Hey Bratz Fans! Happy New Year!

"Viviana™ and Valentina™ are Vi and Va™! Two sisters and best friends with their cousins, Felicia™ and Roxxi™. Every day is an adventure and a reason to celebrate the bond of family and friendship."

“Viviana™ and Valentina™ are Vi and Va™! Two sisters and best friends with their cousins, Felicia™ and Roxxi™. Every day is an adventure and a reason to celebrate the bond of family and friendship.”

Now, while we obviously can’t talk about this year’s Bratz yet, as you can guess from the above logo,we do have some other MGA news to share! Just yesterday, a mysterious new display popped up at a Target in Houston, Texas, featuring some VERY mysterious and totally MGA-style artwork! (Check out the original spotting here on flickr!) We asked one of our peeps at MGA, but before we could even get an answer, our awesome friend, Teahoshi, got the full scoop! The new brand is called “Vi-and-Va”, and appears to be kind of like a new, more family-focused, Bratz Kidz-styled line? At least the artwork is very similar! Check out their cute illustration below!

Their names, Felicia, Viviana, Valentina, and Roxxi, should sound pretty familiar to any Bratz fan, as 3/4 of them are from the girlz themselves! Name recycling isn’t anything new for MGA, but it is interesting that they chose such memorable ones! Regardless, they are pretty cute! Teahoshi also shared the news that they have listings on Target.com! Check out the photos, and links to the listings, below 🙂

Bratz Spring 2014 Lines!!

October 24, 2013

Hey Bratz Fans!

It is officially fall and that once again means it’s time for things to start leaking out about next spring’s Bratz offerings! Bratz Heaven has snooped his way into Target’s listings again and found some interesting things! One is a new line called “Bratz Garden Party“, which sounds totes classy & elegant to us – but perhaps with a rebellious flair a la Bratz Princess? We’re definitely psyched for those! Another find was “Bratz DIY” or potentially “Project Bratz“. Bratz Head Gamez was a HUGE fan-fave in our 2013 survey, so we’re betting that this will be a fun mix & match line like that! And finally, “My Passion” will be expanding into the spring with Yasmin (songwriter – So Girlz Really Rock!) and Meygan (Stylist) confirmed for now! We actually have the Amazon listing for Meygan, and it mentions her being a “makeup artist/blogger”, so we’re definitely looking forward to seeing what she comes with! You can check out Mimi’s listing here

That’s all we know for now, but more is sure to come out soon!

Hey Bratz Fans!

Alex here, and if you haven’t already heard, the first wave of Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch is in stores now in both the United States and Canada! Of course I had to run out and grab them as soon as I heard the news. Check ’em out below!

The Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch wave 1 double pack next to Mattel's Monster High Create-A-Monser starter pack. Click to view full-size!

First, I had to take a photo in the store of the BZ pack next to a Monster High Create-A-Monster set, and even to my surprise, they’re even more different from each other than previously though! The main similarity was the packaging, but even that’s hardly similar. Bratzillaz’ box has a more “warm”, redder color scheme, and features frames on the background, as well as a fun and curvy border on the front, keeping it in with the branding for the rest of the Bratzillaz products. Monster High went for a bright lime green background, with black rectangles corresponding to the placement of each piece. And speaking of placement, even that’s pretty different. Sure the arms are all together in both sets, but where else would they place them…? If you want to get technical, you could easily say Monster High AND Bratzillaz are copying the original “Build-A-Doll”, Betty Spaghetty! Packaging aside, the obvious difference is that the Bratzillaz double pack includes far more pieces, including not only what’s necessary to build both dolls, but to fully dress them head-to-toe as well. While the Create-A-Monster sets includes two basic dresses, one pair of shoes, one real-hair wig, and one molded-hair wig, Bratzillaz keep their witches covered in two tops, two skirts, two pairs of shoes, two saran wigs, two pairs of earrings, two bracelets, two hats, and two capes – one of which doubles as a belt! With the Bratzillaz set being $24.99, and the Monster High set at $19.99, it means you can technically get two fully-articulated, saran-haired, glass-eyes BZ dolls for $12.50 (cheaper than the basic “Core” assortment out now, which lacks articulation, saran hair, and glass eyes!) or one fully-dressed-but-not-accessorized, fully-articulated Monster High ghoul with either kenekalon or molded hair, and one without shoes for about $10 each, which is cheaper than the $14.99+ they’d force you to pay as stand-alone dolls, but still at least double what they’re worth based on quality! Just some facts for consumers to consider, now let’s get wicked! 😉

Sorry for the terrible photo, I was rushing to get them open LOL! Click to view full-size!

Here’s both sets from the first wave in their boxes! It’s a bit hard to tell, but each torso piece is actually a different mold! The leg molds are actually different on each witch too, surprisingly. Don’t worry, all three can share fashions with each other as well as with the other Bratzillaz too. Personally, I love that MGA is giving us this unexpected variety! Also, I already mentioned that the 2-pack is $24.99, but the single pack is $14.99 🙂

Here’s everything that both sets come with! The double pack includes: 2 heads, 2 torsos (with the waist joint!), 4 upper legs, 4 lower legs, 4 upper arms, 4 lower arms, 4 hands, 2 saran wigs, 2 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of earrings, 2 bracelets, 2 hats, 2 capes (one of which doubles as a belt, as I mentioned above!), 2 tops, 2 bottoms, one brush, and instructions. Note that the background of the box makes an AMAZING backdrop for photos too!

The single pack includes: 1 head, 1 torso (with the waist joint!), 2 upper legs, 2 lower legs, 2 upper arms, 2 lower arms, 2 hands, 1 saran wig, 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of earrings, 1 hat, 1 cape, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 brush, and instructions.

And now that you’ve seen everything they come with, we can put them together and brew up three complete wicked glam witches!

The three combos I've made so far! Keep in mind that I used pieces from both sets, so you'd need to buy both in order to create these specifically. Click to view full-size!

Aren’t they amazing? MGA really did an outstanding job on this line. The black and white witch is so bold and edgy, and definitely not something you’d typically see on a stroll down the playline doll aisle! The witch in pink and green is another real cutie. I love her winged eye makeup, and of course that ‘fro is to die for! The single pack face is just amazing as well. When MGA does glass eyes, they do them RIGHT! She’s sporting the Bratzillaz’ world-famous glitter eyes in silver!

Hey Bratz Fans!

Our BFF and board member A3BOYZ has spotted the new 2013 Xpress it! dolls at Target! He found Sasha, who was first spotted on Wednesday, and also Yasmin, Cloe, and Jade! On our forum, he was kind enough to share hi-res photos of the dolls with us. Check ’em out below!

As you can see, the Yasmin appears to be the same doll we found nude on taobao a while back. We’re loving the bright spring makeup on these girls, especially Cloe! Yas and Cloe have some awesome trendy fashions too, thought we’re not totally sold on Jade’s dress just yet…

A comparison shot between Cloe & a Barbie doll. Note that Cloe is actually a little bit off the "ground" in her box, but they are about the same height. Click to view full-size!

Ammar has also shared a height comparison between Cloe & Barbie’s friend Summer too. We knew the girls would be taller, but we were not expecting Barbie’s height! This should definitely make for some interesting mixin’ & matchin’!

So what are your thoughts on the new Xpress it! Bratz? Let us know on the forum, tweet us @BratzBoulevard, or let us know on facebook at facebook.com/BratzBoulevard!

Hey Bratz Fans!

The time has finally come, the spring 2013 Bratz dolls are heading to stores as we type! The first to make an appearance is Xpress it! Sasha, who was recently revealed on Bratz.com in the new homepage banner promo. She’s been spotted at stores in Wisconsin and Mississippi, so if you’re in either of those general regions, get to the stores ASAP! Below are some photos from eBay seller ravendollz, who has Sasha for sale sans her fabulous outfit 🙂

Hey Bratz Fans!

It’s that special time of year, when info on the spring Bratz lines leaks out! So far, we’ve got four new Bratz lines confirmed by Target’s computer system: Bratz Totally Polished, Bratz Mermaidz, Bratz Bahama Beach, and Bratz In The Wild!

Totally Polished sounds like it could be the next makeover line, possibly along the lines of Totally Tattoo’d, just with nail polish or stick-on nails! Target’s price is $16.99, so it won’t be as big as Featherageous or All Glammed Up were.

Bratz Mermaidz is pretty easy to picture. We’re hoping that they have loooong, colorful hair and really exotic looking tails/fashions! It’s possible that a transforming feature will be included, but we’re actually hoping that there are no real gimmicks attached to this line. Target’s price is $24.99, so this looks to be one of the bigger lines for next spring!

Bratz Bahama Beach is the beach line fans have been begging for! We love that MGA’s giving the girlz a location for their beach this time, and hopefully the Bahamas will have some influence on the look of the whole line. Target’s price is $12.99, which is surprisingly low for a beach line! We’re not sure if these prices are MGA’s SRPs, or prices set by Target themselves, so the line could go a few different ways. If $12.99 is Target’s set price for them, it’s likely that this line will be a basic collection, along the lines of Strut it!, Style it!, etc. If $12.99 is the SRP set by MGA, it’s possible that we’ll be seeing two swimsuits, and maybe even a few little accessories with each doll! We so hope it’s the latter of the two, but we’ll have to wait and see!

Bratz In The Wild totally sounds like one of the Bratz’ famous safari-themed lines! If you all remember, we reported on a possible new “Bratz Wild Things” line coming next year a few months back. Could this be the same thing? The tag we found has it for $22.99, and Target’s price says $24.99, which are very close, so it’s pretty likely! The price has us really psyched, because it suggests that this line will be continuing the tradition of MGA’s “Wild” lines coming with two fashions and a decent amount of accessories too! We can’t wait to see this line!

Now, what about Bratzillaz, the wicked teen witch cousins of the Bratz? Target also has a listing in their computers for “Bratzillaz Hat Ma”, which is…interesting to say the least. Our guess is that we’ll be seeing a “hat maker”, probably a set for Bratzillaz fans to make their own witch hats. This kind of stuff usually doesn’t interest us that much, but it will be cool to see how this comes out. Target’s price is $34.99, so it sounds like it will be a pretty big deal…

What are all of your predictions? Are you as stoked as we are for the new Bratz? Let us know on twitter (@BratzBoulevard), facebook (facebook.com/BratzBoulevard), or on the forum at BratzBoulevard.com!
