Potential 2014 Bratz Clothes on TaoBao!
November 22, 2013
Hey Bratz Fans!
It’s Novemer, and you all know what that means – Spring Bratz on Taobao! We’ve been combing the site daily for a few weeks now and have tracked down a few goodies that could be from the Bratz 2014 wardrobe! Check ’em out below 🙂

L-R: Moxie Girlz Cotton Candy Style Avery in a new fashion, Cotton Candy Style Sophina in her stock outfit, a brand new 2014 Sophina in My Passion Cloe’s top and brand new leggings, and a brand new 2014 Monet wearing a “duct tape”-style dress, possibly for Project Bratz! Click to view full size.
These pieces just went up today! The one we’re most sure about is the vinyl dress Monet (far right) is wearing, as it appears too big for her, and also matches the “duct tape” descriptions of the Project Bratz line. We think this is a hot dress and would look fab on Yasmin with the right accessories! It kind of reminds us of 2009’s Pampered Petz Yasmin, mixed with some of the vinyl fashions that defined that era for Bratz. Other new pieces here are the pineapple print leggings on Sophina (3rd) and the red, green and purple grape dress on Avery (Far left). We’re kind of hoping those fruity pieces are actually for Moxie girlz, since they seem to fit them better both size and style-wise. It is also a possibility that they are from the spring Garden Party line as well though.

Who wore it best? Neon Runway Sasha is sporting the same dress in all gold. Factory error? Click to view full size.
This cute minidress has actually been floating around Taobao for about a week now, though we’ve been hesitant to post it before knowing for sure what it was for, but why not? We’re assuming the gold version being modeled by Sasha is a factory error, as the one in blue, green and gold on Jade is listed by a few sellers. We are also assuming the shoes and earrings on Jade are included in whichever doll the dress is intended for, our best guess being Project Bratz given the “duct tape” look of the vinyl dress! We think this is such a cute piece, we love the bright colors and the tribal-inspired striped print! We actually did get to ask one of our friends at MGA about this dress, and whether or not it’s for Project Bratz. They said, “If I remember right, that dolls dress doesn’t look like the final duct tape look we had gone with. But, to be fair, it’s been close to six months since I’ve seen them.” So it sounds like it could go either way! Regardless, we like what we see!
And just a reminder, stay tuned for our big announcement PLUS our raffle for the Russian Exclusive Bratz Special Edition dolls coming up very soon!

Bratz Spring 2014 Lines!!
October 24, 2013
Hey Bratz Fans!
It is officially fall and that once again means it’s time for things to start leaking out about next spring’s Bratz offerings! Bratz Heaven has snooped his way into Target’s listings again and found some interesting things! One is a new line called “Bratz Garden Party“, which sounds totes classy & elegant to us – but perhaps with a rebellious flair a la Bratz Princess? We’re definitely psyched for those! Another find was “Bratz DIY” or potentially “Project Bratz“. Bratz Head Gamez was a HUGE fan-fave in our 2013 survey, so we’re betting that this will be a fun mix & match line like that! And finally, “My Passion” will be expanding into the spring with Yasmin (songwriter – So Girlz Really Rock!) and Meygan (Stylist) confirmed for now! We actually have the Amazon listing for Meygan, and it mentions her being a “makeup artist/blogger”, so we’re definitely looking forward to seeing what she comes with! You can check out Mimi’s listing here
That’s all we know for now, but more is sure to come out soon!

“What on Earth is Going On” with Novi Stars!
August 19, 2013
Hey Bratz & Novi Stars Fans!
Sorry for not posting in a little bit – there just hasn’t been much news for Bratz or Bratzillaz recently! But another MGA doll brand, Novi Stars, has been getting a lot of buzz lately in the community after a rumor that they would be cancelled next year hit the net. While there’s been plenty of speculation about their cancellation, we wanted to get the full scoop, so we asked one of our great friends on the Novi Stars team about it!
It was confirmed that at the moment, there definitely will not be any new Novi Stars products for spring 2014, but that the fall 2013 line is still going to store shelves (Many of the new dolls have actually been out for a little while now!) and it was also made clear to us that Novi as a whole is not “cancelled” or “discontinued” just yet, and that if sales pick up dramatically this fall, it’s VERY likely that we’ll see more from them in the future! Our cosmic pal also added  that “Things change from week to week or even day to day [at MGA]. Hardly anything is ever set in stone.” and reminded us that “It’s all about sales numbers. If people don’t buy, stores don’t order new product. They won’t take a risk on something with a small interest group”
So that’s the official word on Novi Stars at the moment! If you’re after anything from the new fall lines, we would definitely recommend grabbing them while you can, and be sure to spread the word to all the Novi fans you know. If sales go up a lot, the brand can easily be saved! We know there are a lot of older collectors who like the Novi Stars, so we did suggest to our friend on Team Novi that they could possibly rebrand as something more geared towards an older audience with lower production, and that idea has been forwarded to the head of the Novis. Keep your fingers (and antennae) crossed!

8/20/13 UPDATE!!!
Not only is the Novi Stars brand NOT discontinued just yet, but MGA is actually in the process of bringing them to more international markets! They’re hoping to achieve a similar success as the Moxie Girlz, which according to MGA sell “really well internationally and just okay in the US.” Let’s hope the Novis really blast off overseas! 🙂
UPDATE #2!!!
Our great friend Maurice has made a petition to keep the Novi Stars alive! Even though we now know that the brand isn’t discontinued, a petition could be great positive reinforcement in addition to a spike in sales! Sign it here 🙂
Wicked Huge Update on Bratzillaz lines for Fall 2013!
April 4, 2013
Hey Bratz Fans!
Fellow fansite Bratz Heaven has once again scored a major scoop with more new amazon listings, this time for two new Bratzillaz segments coming this fall “Bratzillaz Back to Magic” and “Bratzillaz Wicked Glam Princess“!
As the title suggests, Back to Magic is a back-to-school segment for fall, featuring Meygana, Jade, Sashabella, and two new exchange students from India and China: Illiana Honesty and Victoria Antique. We’re predicting this range will be similar in concept to the first edition Bratzillaz line, in that it will include the dolls wearing signature fashions (And new fall outfits for Meygana, Jade, and Sashabella of course) as well as a stand, character spell card, and possibly a pet. Victoria Antique sounds amazing from her name alone, and seeing how the Zillaz represent different nationalities will be really fun to see! Check out links to the listings below.
Sashabella
Jade
Meygana
Illiana
Victoria
Wicked Glam Princess totally sounds like a working title to us, meaning it is likely to change, but the line sounds absolutely enchanting nonetheless! The listings’ detailed description with an actual plot make this segment sound like a biggie for fall, possibly backed by a webisode or even a DVD/TV special of some sort? We seriously hope so! Here’s the story behind the collection:
“While exploring the academy, the Bratzillazâ„¢ discover hidden pictures of Forgotten Princesses (wt) they read about in history class. They recognized them by their birdcage hats, witchmark make-up, and their elegant dresses that look like they are from another time. The Bratzillazâ„¢ use their magic to free the princesses from their picture frames and befriend them.”
That alone gives us super-high hopes for these witches. Birdcage hats and elegant dresses? Sounds like Glam is about to get a little Couture! Could it get any better? Of course! The three princesses in the line are Vinessa Speakers, who we’re guessing has some powers over music, Siernna Calmer, who we think might have some control over emotions, and Angelic Sounds, who we really have no clue what to expect of! Her last name sounds like she could also be a musician… The features for this line are bird-cage hats, glow-in-the-dark bird hair accessories, and probably the aforementioned elegant dresses, too! You can check out the listings for these wicked royals below.

We are beyond wicked excited for all of these new releases! How about all of you? Let us know on our facebook page, or tweet us!

Up Close & Magical Part 2: Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch Wave 1!
February 21, 2013
Hey Bratz Fans!
Alex here, and if you haven’t already heard, the first wave of Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch is in stores now in both the United States and Canada! Of course I had to run out and grab them as soon as I heard the news. Check ’em out below!

The Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch wave 1 double pack next to Mattel’s Monster High Create-A-Monser starter pack. Click to view full-size!
First, I had to take a photo in the store of the BZ pack next to a Monster High Create-A-Monster set, and even to my surprise, they’re even more different from each other than previously though! The main similarity was the packaging, but even that’s hardly similar. Bratzillaz’ box has a more “warm”, redder color scheme, and features frames on the background, as well as a fun and curvy border on the front, keeping it in with the branding for the rest of the Bratzillaz products. Monster High went for a bright lime green background, with black rectangles corresponding to the placement of each piece. And speaking of placement, even that’s pretty different. Sure the arms are all together in both sets, but where else would they place them…? If you want to get technical, you could easily say Monster High AND Bratzillaz are copying the original “Build-A-Doll”, Betty Spaghetty! Packaging aside, the obvious difference is that the Bratzillaz double pack includes far more pieces, including not only what’s necessary to build both dolls, but to fully dress them head-to-toe as well. While the Create-A-Monster sets includes two basic dresses, one pair of shoes, one real-hair wig, and one molded-hair wig, Bratzillaz keep their witches covered in two tops, two skirts, two pairs of shoes, two saran wigs, two pairs of earrings, two bracelets, two hats, and two capes – one of which doubles as a belt! With the Bratzillaz set being $24.99, and the Monster High set at $19.99, it means you can technically get two fully-articulated, saran-haired, glass-eyes BZ dolls for $12.50 (cheaper than the basic “Core” assortment out now, which lacks articulation, saran hair, and glass eyes!) or one fully-dressed-but-not-accessorized, fully-articulated Monster High ghoul with either kenekalon or molded hair, and one without shoes for about $10 each, which is cheaper than the $14.99+ they’d force you to pay as stand-alone dolls, but still at least double what they’re worth based on quality! Just some facts for consumers to consider, now let’s get wicked! 😉
Here’s both sets from the first wave in their boxes! It’s a bit hard to tell, but each torso piece is actually a different mold! The leg molds are actually different on each witch too, surprisingly. Don’t worry, all three can share fashions with each other as well as with the other Bratzillaz too. Personally, I love that MGA is giving us this unexpected variety! Also, I already mentioned that the 2-pack is $24.99, but the single pack is $14.99 🙂

Left: Everything included in the double pack, laid out. Right: Everything included in the single pack, laid out. Click to view full-size!
Here’s everything that both sets come with! The double pack includes: 2 heads, 2 torsos (with the waist joint!), 4 upper legs, 4 lower legs, 4 upper arms, 4 lower arms, 4 hands, 2 saran wigs, 2 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of earrings, 2 bracelets, 2 hats, 2 capes (one of which doubles as a belt, as I mentioned above!), 2 tops, 2 bottoms, one brush, and instructions. Note that the background of the box makes an AMAZING backdrop for photos too!
The single pack includes: 1 head, 1 torso (with the waist joint!), 2 upper legs, 2 lower legs, 2 upper arms, 2 lower arms, 2 hands, 1 saran wig, 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of earrings, 1 hat, 1 cape, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 brush, and instructions.
And now that you’ve seen everything they come with, we can put them together and brew up three complete wicked glam witches!

The three combos I’ve made so far! Keep in mind that I used pieces from both sets, so you’d need to buy both in order to create these specifically. Click to view full-size!
Aren’t they amazing? MGA really did an outstanding job on this line. The black and white witch is so bold and edgy, and definitely not something you’d typically see on a stroll down the playline doll aisle! The witch in pink and green is another real cutie. I love her winged eye makeup, and of course that ‘fro is to die for! The single pack face is just amazing as well. When MGA does glass eyes, they do them RIGHT! She’s sporting the Bratzillaz’ world-famous glitter eyes in silver!

Here’s a close-up of the black and white combination. The white lashes and RED lips are truly magical! Click to view full-size, or check her out at flickr.com/alexbabs

Those EYES! I went for a bit of a ‘tween’ look for her, since her body type is the least matured. Maybe she got her scholarship to the Academy early? Click to view full-size, or check her out at flickr.com/alexbabs

Here’s Miss ‘Fro working it! If I were to give her a magical power, I’d probably give her the ability to control emotions! Since she’s a bit clown-like, I think she should make people laugh! Click to view full-size or check her out at flickr.com/alexbabs
And here’s my video review on these packs as well!
