Hey Bratz Fans!

Alex here, and if you haven’t already heard, the first wave of Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch is in stores now in both the United States and Canada! Of course I had to run out and grab them as soon as I heard the news. Check ’em out below!

First, I had to take a photo in the store of the BZ pack next to a Monster High Create-A-Monster set, and even to my surprise, they’re even more different from each other than previously though! The main similarity was the packaging, but even that’s hardly similar. Bratzillaz’ box has a more “warm”, redder color scheme, and features frames on the background, as well as a fun and curvy border on the front, keeping it in with the branding for the rest of the Bratzillaz products. Monster High went for a bright lime green background, with black rectangles corresponding to the placement of each piece. And speaking of placement, even that’s pretty different. Sure the arms are all together in both sets, but where else would they place them…? If you want to get technical, you could easily say Monster High AND Bratzillaz are copying the original “Build-A-Doll”, Betty Spaghetty! Packaging aside, the obvious difference is that the Bratzillaz double pack includes far more pieces, including not only what’s necessary to build both dolls, but to fully dress them head-to-toe as well. While the Create-A-Monster sets includes two basic dresses, one pair of shoes, one real-hair wig, and one molded-hair wig, Bratzillaz keep their witches covered in two tops, two skirts, two pairs of shoes, two saran wigs, two pairs of earrings, two bracelets, two hats, and two capes – one of which doubles as a belt! With the Bratzillaz set being $24.99, and the Monster High set at $19.99, it means you can technically get two fully-articulated, saran-haired, glass-eyes BZ dolls for $12.50 (cheaper than the basic “Core” assortment out now, which lacks articulation, saran hair, and glass eyes!) or one fully-dressed-but-not-accessorized, fully-articulated Monster High ghoul with either kenekalon or molded hair, and one without shoes for about $10 each, which is cheaper than the $14.99+ they’d force you to pay as stand-alone dolls, but still at least double what they’re worth based on quality! Just some facts for consumers to consider, now let’s get wicked! 😉

Here’s both sets from the first wave in their boxes! It’s a bit hard to tell, but each torso piece is actually a different mold! The leg molds are actually different on each witch too, surprisingly. Don’t worry, all three can share fashions with each other as well as with the other Bratzillaz too. Personally, I love that MGA is giving us this unexpected variety! Also, I already mentioned that the 2-pack is $24.99, but the single pack is $14.99 🙂

Here’s everything that both sets come with! The double pack includes: 2 heads, 2 torsos (with the waist joint!), 4 upper legs, 4 lower legs, 4 upper arms, 4 lower arms, 4 hands, 2 saran wigs, 2 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of earrings, 2 bracelets, 2 hats, 2 capes (one of which doubles as a belt, as I mentioned above!), 2 tops, 2 bottoms, one brush, and instructions. Note that the background of the box makes an AMAZING backdrop for photos too!

The single pack includes: 1 head, 1 torso (with the waist joint!), 2 upper legs, 2 lower legs, 2 upper arms, 2 lower arms, 2 hands, 1 saran wig, 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of earrings, 1 hat, 1 cape, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 brush, and instructions.

And now that you’ve seen everything they come with, we can put them together and brew up three complete wicked glam witches!

The three combos I've made so far! Keep in mind that I used pieces from both sets, so you'd need to buy both in order to create these specifically. Click to view full-size!

Aren’t they amazing? MGA really did an outstanding job on this line. The black and white witch is so bold and edgy, and definitely not something you’d typically see on a stroll down the playline doll aisle! The witch in pink and green is another real cutie. I love her winged eye makeup, and of course that ‘fro is to die for! The single pack face is just amazing as well. When MGA does glass eyes, they do them RIGHT! She’s sporting the Bratzillaz’ world-famous glitter eyes in silver!

Here's a close-up of the black and white combination. The white lashes and RED lips are truly magical! Click to view full-size, or check her out at flickr.com/alexbabs

Those EYES! I went for a bit of a 'tween' look for her, since her body type is the least matured. Maybe she got her scholarship to the Academy early? Click to view full-size, or check her out at flickr.com/alexbabs

Here's Miss 'Fro working it! If I were to give her a magical power, I'd probably give her the ability to control emotions! Since she's a bit clown-like, I think she should make people laugh! Click to view full-size or check her out at flickr.com/alexbabs

Hey Bratz Fans!

Today we’ve got a spooky find for fans of the Bratzillaz – a NEW Witchy Makeover Yasmina Clairvoya set! Check out the photos below.

You can make Glam Get Wicked with the Witchy Makeover styling torsos! Here's Yasmina Clairvoya. Click (twice!) to view full-size.

Looks to us like these are made entirely out of the Bratz Funky Fashion Makeover styling torso molds, which were introduced with Bratz Rock Angelz in 2005. It’s very cool to see them with the Bratzillaz’ face though, they almost give us some “Pretty ‘N’ Punk” screening vibes, don’t you think? It appears that each set includes glow-in-the-dark nail polish, as well as several character-specific styling accessories that you can share with your fave wicked witch! Very cool!

Hey Bratz Fans!

Normally, we try to avoid posting articles about prototypes, as we don’t really feel they qualify as news (unless they’re protos for something that hasn’t come out yet ;D), but these are just too cool not to share! We’ve got photos of some AWESOME prototypes for the Bratz Totally Tattoo’d line (clearly from when it was still called “Biker Babez”), and some interesting shots of Crystalicious protos as well! Check ’em out below.

Bratz Biker Babez! L-R: Cloe, Jade, Meygan, Yasmin, and Sasha! Click to view full-size

W O W! Are they hot or what? We’re really happy to see that the fashions didn’t change much other than a few rips here and there and some losses of fabric. Something we wish hadn’t changed at all though is that hair! We love the choppy, colorful chunks that the girlz are rockin’ here. It’s definitely something we don’t see everyday from the Bratz! Those helmets would have been majorly cute accessories too, but with the name change, it makes sense that we’d lose those too. Either way, we’re loving our final Totally Tattoo’d dolls just as much!

Bratz Crystalicious! L-R: Cloe, Jade, and Yasmin! Click to view full-size

And next up is this odd prototype shot for Crystalicious! The fashions are literally exactly like the released dolls’, but the hair and faces are totally different! These prototypes look to have modified versions of some of last year’s faces. Cloe appears to have her Slumber Party face, with reshaped lips and added lashes. Jade actually looks to have a whole new face (and some really GORGEOUS curly brown hair!) , and Yasmin’s appears to be her 2010 Basic face, with the same modifications as Cloe’s. Also worth noting is that funky tinsel extension in Cloe’s hair. The final extension definitely didn’t come out like that (thankfully ;P)

So, what are your thoughts on these pretty protos? Tweet us @BratzBoulevard, let us know on facebook (facebook.com/BratzBoulevard), or post about ’em in the forum at BratzBoulevard.com!

Hey Bratz Fans!

In response to the huge demand for Bratzillaz.com to launch, MGA has put up a video page on the website while they finish up the final site! On the website, you won’t find much for now, but there’s an exciting Bratzillaz product demo which features all five dolls, their pets, and (drumroll!) their earliest prototypes! It’s definitely an interesting thing to see, so check it out at Bratzillaz.com!

Hey Bratz Fans!

Remember when we reported that Crystalicious was on the Chinese auction site, taobao? Well now, the Chic Mystique girls are up as well! Or at least, all but Sasha and Meygan, but we’re sure that they’ll show up eventually 🙂

Chic Mystique Cloe! Click to view full-size 🙂

Cloe looks totally stunning, and we had no idea she was swan-inspired until now! As you all can see, this line also uses the “boring” box style, but at least the art is featured in their “trading cards”. The fact that Meygan isn’t on the box definitely makes us think that she’ll be an exclusive of some sort too 😉

Chic Mystique Jade! Click to view full-size 🙂

We love how Jade almost glows with that minty shade of turquoise in her hair! Also worth noting are the prototypes on the fronts of their boxes. We actually think the final dolls look better with their more interesting hair styles 😉

Chic Mystique Yasmin! Click to view full-size 🙂

Yasmin is totally gorgeous too, though we so don’t get a flamingo vibe from her, LOL! We adore the black contrasting against her peachy pink tones though. 😉

We can’t wait to see how Sasha and Meygan turn out! We’ll keep everyone posted when they show up!

In a first for MGA Entertainment, BratzillazTM games will also be available on apps for smartphones.

Look for more spellbinding BratzillazTM entertainment to manifest throughout the year, including a series of original animated webisodes, music videos, and licensed consumer products.”

OH EM GEE, where do we begin?! Firstly, we love the girls’ bios! Cloetta’s favorite class being “History of Platform Shoes” is a hilariously cute touch, and we know that the Bratz know plenty about those! The blurbs about their marketing strategies sound amazing too – music videos?! Apps?!?! MGA is going all out with this line! We’ll have to geek out for a second and gush over the parallax scrolling to be featured in the website’s design too LOL (For those who don’t know, parallax scrolling is basically when different graphics on a website move around the screen at different speeds. It’s a big trend at the moment and can give websites an awesome 3D effect!) Well, that’s all for now, but we’ll keep everyone updated on the happenings at LX12! 🙂

Hey Bratz Fans!

It’s that time of the year again – time for all of this fall’s Bratz releases to start leaking out! We’ve seen Strut it!, 4/5 of the Bratzillaz, Chic Mystique, Boutique, and now in stunning high resolution, Crystalicious! A promo photo, presumably the one to be used on the back of Crystalicious Cloe’s box (judging by the background edited to match her outfit, as well as the emphasis placed on her name and her doll), was leaked today on a Russian Bratz website, and brought to our attention by our awesome friend, Anya S! We’ll have more information on the photo’s source soon, but for now – let’s gush!

L-R: Sasha, Jade, Cloe, and Yasmin!

As you  know from our previous report on the fall 2012 Bratz lines, Crystalicious is one of two hairplay lines for fall. The main feature appears to be “crystal” hair extensions, which will attach with one of the Bratz’ signature star clips. Much like Featherageous, it appears the extensions can also be removed from their clips, and braided into the dolls’ hair, which you can see on Sasha and Yasmin in the above promo shot. Also included are stick-on crystals, and what look to be tinsel extensions. Also in the style of Featherageous, the dolls appear to have floor-length saran hair as well, which is always a plus! All four dolls are dressed in very cute, shimmery party dresses, covered in sequins and flowers. Earlier this month, the Bratz facebook page shared a close-up of the girls’ dresses and everything looks super detailed! Also worth noting is the return of glittery eyeshadow to the Bratz’ faces. If you click the image above, you’ll see the full-sized photo for a more detailed view. Can’t wait!
