Hey Bratz Fans!

It’s been a slow news year for us, so we’re sorry for the lack of Bratz updates! But we finally do have something cool to share about our favorite Girls With a Passion for Fashion – We got our hands on the official prototypes and inspiration boards for this year’s international exclusive My Passion Wave 2 Yasmin and Meygan dolls! Check ’em out below πŸ™‚

How seriously stunning are these two?! Luckily (Well for those of you who live in the few places these were sold!) the finished dolls don’t differ too much – Meygan’s accessories actually got a little more detailed, taking some clear inspiration from the makeup case shown in her mood board. One thing we’re extremely curious about is “Indie Song Writer Felicia“! Yes, you’re reading that right, Pretty Princess was going to be a brand new Felicia! To be honest, we’re so relieved that didn’t end up happening. Can you imagine the agony of never being able to own her?! Nonetheless, it’s good to know she’s still being considered by MGA and we would totally LOVE to see the earliest prototype for her as Fe.

So what are your thoughts?! Comment below, or let us know on facebook or twitter!

Hey Bratz Fans!

Today, Amazon has added photos to even more of its listings for this fall’s MGA dolls! We now have photos for Bratz Costume Bash,Β Bratz Basic Fall 2013, and Bratzillaz Back to Magic! Check ’em all out below.

First, here is the new Bratz Basic Yasmin, Cloe, and Jade! We added Sasha to the photo as well, though we already saw – and addressed – her the other day. How amazing is this collection?! The core four is dressed to impress in super trendy fashions that also have quite a bit of edge! Yasmin’s outfit is perhaps the most on-trend in our opinions. Just look at that floral denim!! And we’re very happy to see that shoe mold again. Cloe is a major favorite of ours as well. Her look is VERY urban and edgy! The high-waisted leather shorts are HOT, as is the netted top with purple leather bustier! We aren’t incredibly thrilled about her molded purple legs, but it really isn’t an issue, and just adds to the sassy, skin-tight look of her outfit! We will say we would have loved her to include the fingerless gloves and chain belt shown in her art, but with the basic boxes being half-exposed, it makes sense for MGA to omit pieces like that, which would be incredibly easy to steal. Jade is another stunner with her edgy “goth schoolgirl”-esque look! We are so stoked to see another Jade in pigtails, and the red streaks are just awesome – we were getting bored with all the pink! Her makeup is equally rad, with her deep red lips! The outfit Kool Kat is rockin’ is too cool as well! We are loving the use of plaid, as well as the kitty face on her top – definitely a throwback to Jade’s early wardrobe!! Like Cloe, Jade also has molded leggings, but it’s really not a big deal since this line isn’t articulated anyways. The new shoe mold on Jade is amazing! We are really happy to see so many new shoes this fall, and the fact that MGA is getting back to painting the molded details make them all even better!!

And now here is this year’s “Halloween” line – Bratz Costume Bash! This line is so cool because it takes the quirkiness of the old 2006-2008 Costume Party collections, and adds a touch of last year’s Chic Mystique over-the-top attitude! It appears there’s no Sasha in the line at the moment. Yasmin is going to the bash dressed a cute cowgirl with an adorable little pink and white hat (Which is a new mold!), a bandana scarf, a tiny badge (Love it!!), and some classic Bratz Wild Wild West boots! We’d also like to point out that all three dolls come with purses. Sadly, they aren’t fabric, but the fact that we’re getting this many accessories this fall is totally something to celebrate! Cloe is probably the most OTT, as a 70’s hippie chick! We’ll admit, this look is more of a typical costume store-style hippie than a legitimate one, but we suppose that was the point of the line! A Cloe dressed in trendy boho chic clothes wouldn’t make much sense for a Costume Bash πŸ˜‰ Our absolute favorite thing about this Cloe would be her shoes. No, you aren’t seeing things, MGA is seriously bringing back the fan-favorite Bratz Princess shoes for this line! We also love her long, super-curly hair and funky purple streaks! Jade would have to be our all-time favorite of the line, hands down. We don’t quite understand why she’s a gingerbread girl for Halloween – but Jade’s always been known for her quirky cool style! This doll is just SO cool and unique! From the intricately-styled white and red hair (peep the awesome “cookie” accessory!) to her (molded) stripey peppermint leggings, she is just so well put together! The little bowtie was a really great touch in our opinions! Also, note the new-new brushes. MGA updated them with the current Bratz logo!

And last, but most definitely not least, are Bratzillaz Back to Magic Victoria Antique, Sashabella Paws, and Meygana Broomstix! It appears the dolls we saw last time were very late prototypes, as these are a little different, and in our opinions, even better! We’re assuming Jade J’Adore and Illiana Honesty are shipped in a later assortment, as these three keep appearing together. First is Victoria Antique, who we are still totally loving! She hasn’t changed much from the last photo we saw, though now we can get a view of her witchmark (A snake! And all this time, we thought she was dragon-inspired) and her pet in the box (A wicked cute little turtle-esque creature). The box also reveals that her fave class is “The Science of Brew & Renew”, as her power is taking something old and making it new again! Next is Sashabella, who we are honestly so much more impressed with now! We’re so happy to see that she’s finally got some completely new makeup, with that fun bright palette on her eyes, and slightly more purple lips! The outfit hasn’t changed much, which is fine by us. We are beyond ecstatic to see that the dolls include fabric purses just like the Toy Fair prototypes we exclusively revealed! Meygana also got her glasses back, and traded in her completely braided hair for just a few braids in the front. Her outfit isn’t too different either, though the cape is now argile and doesn’t have the embroidered pattern on it. Worth noting is the new text on the box: “Bratzillaz House of Witchez”. We have no clue what this could be, though we are working on getting an answer if we can! It is interesting that “Glam Gets Wicked” is nowhere in sight, and the Bratzillaz name itself is considerably smaller than the new phrase. One guess we have is that it’s the name of a possible TV special or DVD? We already know that the Witchy Princess segment will have a detailed plot totally worthy of some form of media, so we don’t see why the witchez’ new casual looks couln’t be included in that if it were to happen πŸ˜‰

UPDATE! One of our amazing friends at MGA has let us know that the “House of Witchez” tagline is NOT the title of anything upcoming, but rather a new way to let consumers know what the brand is about and that the ‘Zillaz are WITCHEZ. This is an awesome response to the ignorant haters, if we do say so ourselves!

So, what are your thoughts on these new fall segments? Let us know on facebook and twitter!

O M G! How amazing are they?! All four of them are just amazing, honestly even better than we expected! Cloe is WORKING her website designer look with those glasses and streaks! Bunny Boo is a fave of ours too in her fashion designer getup – love the yellow streaks and cute tape measurer! And peep the new cat-eye screening πŸ˜‰ Jade is just fantastic!! Crimped bob with a Missoni print dress?! Yes please! And Yasmin is ready to start the party in her rockin’ hot DJ look – so obsessed with her gloves and microbraids!

So, what are YOUR thoughts on this fab new line?! Are you excited to see the girlz rockin’ careers for the first time ever? Thanks again to Matt for sharing this amazing find with us!

LOVE this line!!! Though we’ll be honest, thes dolls are a bit of a small let down in comparison to the dolls shown on the back of the box. The fashions are identical thankfully, but the fabrics look a little bit cheaper (Mostly Yasmin), and all of them have recycled faces… Plus, where are Jade’s crimps?!

UPDATE #2! Cloe has been revealed and we are happy to say that she still looks 100% awesome!Β

Hey Bratz Fans!

Things have been moving pretty slowly in terms of leaks this year, right? We’ve only seen two photos of anything new for the Bratz, and nothing has shown up on our favorite site, taobao! Until now! A seller has listed both the Bratz Twisty Styles FFMs; Cloe & Yasmin! These are new for fall 2013, and like the Twisty Styles dolls, feature totally new faces! Check ’em out below…

How CUTE are they with the new Tokyo a Go-Go-inspired faces?! We are totally loving Yasmin with her frosted lips and dark blonde hair! Also included with the FFMs are yarn “dread lock” extensions for the Bratz and you, though those weren’t included in these listings. Let’s hope some new dolls show up next!

Hey Bratz Fans!

Alex here, and if you haven’t already heard, the first wave of Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch is in stores now in both the United States and Canada! Of course I had to run out and grab them as soon as I heard the news. Check ’em out below!

The Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch wave 1 double pack next to Mattel's Monster High Create-A-Monser starter pack. Click to view full-size!

First, I had to take a photo in the store of the BZ pack next to a Monster High Create-A-Monster set, and even to my surprise, they’re even more different from each other than previously though! The main similarity was the packaging, but even that’s hardly similar. Bratzillaz’ box has a more “warm”, redder color scheme, and features frames on the background, as well as a fun and curvy border on the front, keeping it in with the branding for the rest of the Bratzillaz products. Monster High went for a bright lime green background, with black rectangles corresponding to the placement of each piece. And speaking of placement, even that’s pretty different. Sure the arms are all together in both sets, but where else would they place them…? If you want to get technical, you could easily say Monster High AND Bratzillaz are copying the original “Build-A-Doll”, Betty Spaghetty! Packaging aside, the obvious difference is that the Bratzillaz double pack includes far more pieces, including not only what’s necessary to build both dolls, but to fully dress them head-to-toe as well. While the Create-A-Monster sets includes two basic dresses, one pair of shoes, one real-hair wig, and one molded-hair wig, Bratzillaz keep their witches covered in two tops, two skirts, two pairs of shoes, two saran wigs, two pairs of earrings, two bracelets, two hats, and two capes – one of which doubles as a belt! With the Bratzillaz set being $24.99, and the Monster High set at $19.99, it means you can technically get two fully-articulated, saran-haired, glass-eyes BZ dolls for $12.50 (cheaper than the basic “Core” assortment out now, which lacks articulation, saran hair, and glass eyes!) or one fully-dressed-but-not-accessorized, fully-articulated Monster High ghoul with either kenekalon or molded hair, and one without shoes for about $10 each, which is cheaper than the $14.99+ they’d force you to pay as stand-alone dolls, but still at least double what they’re worth based on quality! Just some facts for consumers to consider, now let’s get wicked! πŸ˜‰

Sorry for the terrible photo, I was rushing to get them open LOL! Click to view full-size!

Here’s both sets from the first wave in their boxes! It’s a bit hard to tell, but each torso piece is actually a different mold! The leg molds are actually different on each witch too, surprisingly. Don’t worry, all three can share fashions with each other as well as with the other Bratzillaz too. Personally, I love that MGA is giving us this unexpected variety! Also, I already mentioned that the 2-pack is $24.99, but the single pack is $14.99 πŸ™‚

Here’s everything that both sets come with! The double pack includes: 2 heads, 2 torsos (with the waist joint!), 4 upper legs, 4 lower legs, 4 upper arms, 4 lower arms, 4 hands, 2 saran wigs, 2 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of earrings, 2 bracelets, 2 hats, 2 capes (one of which doubles as a belt, as I mentioned above!), 2 tops, 2 bottoms, one brush, and instructions. Note that the background of the box makes an AMAZING backdrop for photos too!

The single pack includes: 1 head, 1 torso (with the waist joint!), 2 upper legs, 2 lower legs, 2 upper arms, 2 lower arms, 2 hands, 1 saran wig, 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of earrings, 1 hat, 1 cape, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 brush, and instructions.

And now that you’ve seen everything they come with, we can put them together and brew up three complete wicked glam witches!

Aren’t they amazing? MGA really did an outstanding job on this line. The black and white witch is so bold and edgy, and definitely not something you’d typically see on a stroll down the playline doll aisle! The witch in pink and green is another real cutie. I love her winged eye makeup, and of course that ‘fro is to die for! The single pack face is just amazing as well. When MGA does glass eyes, they do them RIGHT! She’s sporting the Bratzillaz’ world-famous glitter eyes in silver!

Hey Bratz Fans!

Tonight we’ve got another update on the upcoming Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch line! Now up on taobao are some pieces from the 2nd wave of SAW sets, as advertised on the back of the 1st wave box. Check ’em out below!

These are the assembled dolls that were up. As you can see, the two-toned theme is continuing, and actually going even more over-the-top for wave 2! Click to view full-size.

As you can see, the second wave is taking the two-toned theme of the 1st wave and bringing it way over the top in BRIGHT colors with wicked funky costume makeup! The shapes over the witches’ eyes totally remind us of Jem and the Holograms! Assuming the fashion pieces shown are actually for these sets, it looks like floral prints will be a big theme as well. We love how trendy the fashions are, while still having that Bratzillaz fantasy edge! If the blue and white witch is wearing her boots, it looks like some new shoe molds are to be expected as well.

Above are a few of the wigs and skirts that were also listed. We’re not sure if the pink bob is actually from the set, or if they just put a Moxie Teenz wig on the head, but we thought it was worth including just in case. We’re loving the two-toned bob in ice white and electric lime green!

So what are your thoughts on the new Bratzillaz Switch-A-Witch wave 2 sets so far? We love how wild and bright they are! Sound off in the comments, tweet us @BratzBoulevard, or “Like” us at facebook.com/BratzBoulevard!

Hey Bratz Fans!

Today we’ve got a spooky find for fans of the Bratzillaz – a NEW Witchy Makeover Yasmina Clairvoya set! Check out the photos below.

Looks to us like these are made entirely out of the Bratz Funky Fashion Makeover styling torso molds, which were introduced with Bratz Rock Angelz in 2005. It’s very cool to see them with the Bratzillaz’ face though, they almost give us some “Pretty ‘N’ Punk” screening vibes, don’t you think? It appears that each set includes glow-in-the-dark nail polish, as well as several character-specific styling accessories that you can share with your fave wicked witch! Very cool!
